We have an exciting campus beautiļ¬cation project, approved by the RISD Board of Trustees and backed by campus administration, that entails planting trees, installing cut limestone seating areas and addressing the retaining walls near the auditorium.

We need your help to realize this project!  For more details on the project, including the landscaping plan and how to donate, visit our campus beautification page today!!!

Lake Highlands Estate Neighborhood Association is the first large donor to the beautification project with a very generous donation of $7,000!

PTA BOARD MEMBERS NEEDED FOR 2018-2019!

The LHJH PTA is looking for new Officers and Committee Chairs for the next school year. By serving on the Executive Board of the PTA, you will have a way to be informed about all the exciting happenings at LHJH and the Richardson school district, serve as a liaison between teachers and parents, plus advocate for our children and school community. Whether you want to help run the business of the Board, communicate district news to the Board members, help organize school social events, provide teacher appreciation treats, or manage communications to the wider school body, the right volunteer position is available for you!   Please see this sign-up for details.

PARENT MEETING ON WED., JAN. 31ST - PROPOSED CHANGES TO GPA/CLASS RANK

As you may have heard, RISD has been studying potential changes to GPA and Class Rank procedures, which would begin to be implemented as early as the 2018-2019 school year, if approved by the RISD Board of Trustees. A committee of students, parents, staff and researchers has been meeting for more than a year to look at other school districts' procedures and examine the pros and cons of potentially changing.

Given the communications challenges around the public meetings during the holiday season, RISD leaders have scheduled additional meetings to gather public input.

Our LH-area meeting will be at the Lake Highlands Junior High Library (2nd floor) on Wednesday, January 31 at 6 p.m. Please make an effort to be part of the conversation...this is especially important for the families of junior high and elementary students, who would be most affected by any changes.

Please visit the RISD website for more information about the GPA/Rank Committee.

LIGHTS ON LAKE HIGHLANDS FEB. 6

On Tues., Feb. 6th at 6 pm, prospective families will be coming to LHJH to hear from our principal, see current students show their talents, and tour the school.
